[Oct 1] "Here Come The Boys" is charting Top Ten on the Chartattack and Earshot Canadian Jazz album charts! Congratulations to all the 'Boys" for their collective success!

[Aug 22] George travelled to Montréal to record a new CD project featuring his Montréal trio and a horn section playing charts by Phil Dwyer. "Movie Songs" is anticipated for release this fall. Stay tuned for updates.

[Aug 18] George performed with a stellar ensemble at the Montréal Bistro, including Reg Schwager, Archie Alleyne, Pat Collins, and featuring Don Thompson on vibes. The evening, presenting songs from the repertoire of Norvo and Bailey, and additionally from the repertoire of Shearing with vocalists, was an unqualified success. Look for this as a special concert feature starting the 2004-2005 season.

[July 24] George is a guest on Jazz In The City with Jaymz Bee on Jazz.fm in promotion of his new project, "Here Come The Boys"

[July 15] George's new project, "Here Come The Boys" is reviewed in the Toronto Star. Geoff Chapman gives it a rave. Also today, Jazz.fm's Sing, Sing, Sing with Heather Bambrick, features no less than THREE tracks from the disc on air.

[July 10] The 3 Crooners, Alcorn-Evans-Labelle take the mainstage at the Montréal International Jazz Festival. In the afternoon leading up to the event, the Crooners were treated to a full-length studio taping of their act for CoolTV at the amazing MusiMax facility in Downtown Montréal.

[July 6] George's production "Here Come The Boys" hit the streets nationwide. Racked side-by-side with other Universal Music product, new releases from Matt Dusk and Diana Krall.

[July 2] George acted as host for the main stage event "Rite Of Strings" at the Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival. With Jean-Luc Ponty, Al Di Meola and Stanley Clarke and with Alain Caron's band as an opening act, it was an exciting night.

[June 28] The Kenny Rankin engagement at the Top o' the Senator which George helped to book was an unqualified success. Rankin fans came out of the woodwork as Kenny demonstrated his technical and interpretive prowess, and showed the unninitiated why he has such enduring appeal.

[June 27] George participated in a one-of-a-kind evening of intimate jazz vocals and fine cuisine at le Select Bistro with the accompaniment of the wonderful Gordon Webster at the piano, and the brilliant Steve Wallace on the bass. This was George's official Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival performance.

[June 14] Retail order deadline for "Here Come The Boys." Stores wishing to have stock by the street date of July 6th, must order by today.

[June 1] The Montréal International Jazz Festival has announced that The 3 Crooners will headline the Stage GM (the Main Stage) on Saturday July 10. George Evans will appear together with John Alcorn, John Labelle, and the Montréal trio who accompanied the Crooners concerts in Montréal this past fall. There will also be a live full-length studio concert taping at the Musimax studios that weekend - watch for details.

[May 3] George and his Toronto quartet were in studio today recording a session for Jazz Beat on CBC. Look for this session to air as a part of next season.

[May 1] George closes this weekend at the Senator after one whole week with his wonderful Toronto quartet.

[April 25] The Upstairs jazz club in Montréal hosted George Evans and his trio for two nights on the weekend. From Toronto George brought along Gordon Webster on piano, to join in with Jim Doxas and Zack Lober on bass and drums. A good time was had by all.

[April 9] In an unusual turn of events, George was asked this week to help acquire Canadian bookings for classic singer-songwriter and jazz balladeer Kenny Rankin. Kenny is now scheduled to appear in Toronto during the Downtown Jazz Festival - a slam-dunk that took roughly 24 hrs to achieve.

[April 7] George is in talks to produce an English-language jazz vocal album for a major Quebecois recording artist, actor, and television personality. An announcement may be made shortly.

[March 20] George has finished his column for the Spring edition of Planet Jazz Magazine. It was a pleasure to write about a handful of new Canadian releases of exceptionally high quality, along with the usual assortment of American artists. Look for the next issue of Planet Jazz on store shelves by mid-May.

[March 13] A good time was had by all at the prestigious CBC Jazz Vocal Showcase performance at the Glenn Gould Studio. With Mark Eisenman's trio as the superior backing ensemble, along with soloists Mike Murley on sax and Kevin Turcotte on trumpet, all four vocalists, Ranee Lee, Heather Bambrick, Jennifer Scott, and George Evans were brilliantly supported. Look for a May broadcast date for this special concert.

[February 18] The 3 Crooners had a great time playing the Top o' the Senator this past week, while musicians Gordon Webster, Dougie Richardson, Joanie Taylor, and a host of others all turned out to hear the boys in performance. George is currently writing script for the National Jazz Awards, and will be in attendance next week a the Wintergarden theatre for the event on the 24th.

[February 10] The Distillery Jazz Festival has announced its line-up, and The 3 Crooners have been chosen to appear on the bill in the 'VOX' Jazz Vocal series. One small step for man, one giant leap for Crooner-kind. See us there at the Distillery in May.

[February 7] Fans of the pop and jazz vocal programming that George provided to the Montréal area for the better part of a decade will be delighted to hear that George is soon to return to air on K103FM in Montréal! Watch this space for details in the days to come.

[February 1] George's "Sound Of Toronto Jazz" concert aired this weekend on JAZZ.FM91. Feedback was resoundingly positive, and we are investigating the possibility of releasing the concert as a live album later this year.

[January 19] The 3 Crooners have been booked to play the Top o' the Senator for a week-long engagement including Valentine's Day, from February 10-15.
