George Evans plays Vancouver Jazz Festival:

Festival season was in high gear when George Evans played the Vancouver International Jazz Festival in June. Appearing in Western Canada for the first time, the performance featured selections from the critically-praised 2001 CD release, "From Moment To Moment", and more from his repertoire of standards and rarities. Alternately, George and his Vancouver Trio (Tilden Webb on piano, Jodi Proznick on bass, and Blaine Wickjord on drums) treated listeners to selections from the current touring presentation, "Richard Rodgers: A Jazz Portrait". George was totally in his element, on stage for the very first time in an intimate setting at O'Doul's in Vancouver, and anticipates playing there again.

See Pics HEREGeorge says, "While in Vancouver, I had the supreme pleasure of attending performances by Kate Hammett-Vaughan, Karin Plato, and Tammy Weiss. All three ladies were a revelation, and a delight to get to know musically. Generosity seems the norm on the scene out there, and both Kate and Tammy invited me graciously to get up and sing at their intimate club performances. This surely wouldn't have happened at Toronto or Montréal festival club-dates, and I am most grateful for the opportunity and hope to return the invitation."
