"Live at the Cellar" finally coming to disc and digital:
[June 2008] This previously unreleased live recording from May of 2006 is now available in a special Limited Edition pressing. The inadvertent destruction of recordings from the first night meant there would be no source material for alternate takes, and so we held the recording back. Nonetheless, we've chosen now to bring it to you in recognition of a remarkable west-coast night in the midst of the "Bewitched" album tour. Recorded live at the Cellar in Vancouver, this highly swinging program consists of traditional pop standards, played with few restrictions before a very live audience. Since only this recording exists, what you'll hear is exactly what went down in the second set, at 10:30 pm on Saturday, May 13th, 2006. Almost as good as being there, but with no cover, no minimum, and no hangover!

"Brainless errors" department:
[January 2008] If you have searched George Evans CD titles online or at retail in the last year you will have come across a spate of interesting titles, including "There Comes A Time", "Plays Jimi Hendrix" and several others. Due to a brainless data entry error by the former distributor of these CD re-issues, the late great "Gil Evans" is databased as "George Evans." After months of trying to make contact with the distributor in question, the catalog changed hands, and we finally tracked down the person responsible for data entry at the new one-stop distributor. Clearly they would prefer that the valuable Gil Evans catalog be properly marketed, and so little by little, the Internet will show a correction in this bad data in the months (perhaps years) to come. See what can happen when non-jazz-friendly companies market this music?

The Full M-Swing Catalogue Coming To iTunes:
[September 2007] What took us so long? Frankly, we have no good answer for that, except that George himself is very old-school when it comes to collecting hard-copy music products, and would probably be more passionate about releasing the M-Swing catalogue on vinyl than digital. That said, we have finally managed to twist his arm and let those fans who now buy digitally collect his albums in digital formats for their listening pleasure. Look for all of George's titles to appear on iTunes in the weeks to come.

[Nov 2005] As the release date approaches, M-Swing is pleased to announce that "Bewitched" [MSW-G028] will be the first George Evans album to feature (on three tracks) strings, as arranged by Rick Wilkins, one of Canada's great jazz orchestrators. Slated for release in the new year, "Bewitched" will compile a number of songs newly recorded, several from the 2004 CBC Jazz Beat session, and will present for the first time, two spectacular string-arranged ballads from the 2002 sessions that yielded "Eyes For You" with the late Jerry Fuller on drums.

| George plans two new studio releases:
[May 2004] The 2003-2004 season tour of "Jazz at the Movies" set the wheels in motion for "Movie Songs," a new studio project comprised of material developed in a concert setting. This project, expanded with horns, will be ready to press in the Fall of 2004. On the other side of development, George and his Toronto quartet were captured in session for CBC's Jazz Beat in May of 2004 after a Spring run at the Top o' the Senator. Once the session airs, the recordings will be in the clear, and you can look for this to emerge as an album in 2005.

Rodgers "featured" on future release:
After touring the Richard Rodgers concert presentation "A Jazz Portrait," George was delighted to commmit 6 of the show charts to tape in June of 2002 (with Jerry Fuller on drums.) As with the trio of Porter tunes on "Eyes," listeners can expect these tracks to surface on the next M-Swing release.
